Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is a city with nearly 1 million inhabitants.
It's home to the headquarters of both the NATO and the European Commission.
It's home also to some world famous spots and structures, like
the Grand Place, the beautiful medieval market square,
Manneken Pis, the statue of the little peeing boy, and the Atomium, the 102m/335f tall unique structure
in the shape of an atomium that was built for the 1958 world fair.
Brussels is home as well to several old architectural buildings and palaces,
and just a few kilometres outside of Brussels Waterloo can be found,
where in 1815 one of history's greatest battles took place and Napoleon was defeated.
Brussels has quite a few high-rises as well, although compared to some of the other cities
that are part of this site, it can be regarded as one of the smaller high-rise cities.
Still, the city is interesting enough to be part of the Skyscraper Picture Collection, hence its addition.

a 117m/384f, 30 stories building that was Brussels' and Belgium's tallest
from 1960 until the completion of Tour Midi in 1967. Centre International Rogier was demolished in 2001;
one of the tallest buildings in Europe ever to be demolished.

In 2009, the bronze coloured façade will be replaced by a blue one.
The height will remain unchanged.
