Above: two views of the Marina 1 complex,
which consists of six high-rise buildings
(l-r: Al Mass Tower, Fairooz Tower, Murjan Tower, Mesk Tower, Yass Tower and Anbar Tower).
These six towers were all completed in 2003 and consist of 1,100 residential units.

The Marina 1 complex was the first complex of the Dubai Marina area.
At the moment, many new towers are under construction, while many others are planned,
and will be constructed in the next few years (around 150 towers).
Among them several towers that will be among the tallest in the world.
The Dubai Marina area will be the world's largest waterfront development, when completed in 2009 or 2010.
It will eventually house close to 40,000 people.
Adjecent to Dubai Marina are Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City.
Several tall towers are planned here as well.

Above: Grosvenor House Dubai (210m/690f, 48 stories, 2005).
The building was still under construction when the pictures were taken (March 2005).
The building will be partly residential and partly hotel.
The hotel is expected to open in June of 2005.

Above: Al Seef Tower (215m/705f, 44 stories, 2005).
This residential tower was also still under construction when the pictures were taken.
It had just been topped out. The tower will have 160 apartments.

Above right: Yass Tower (124m/407f, 27 stories, 2003).
In the foreground work is underway for the MarinaScape complex.
Missing in these pictures is the smallest of the six Marina 1 complex buildings
Anbar Tower (85m/279f, 19 stories, 2003).

Below, you can find some pictures (of renditions of the buildings which can be found at the building site)
of some of the (tallest) towers that will be completed in Dubai Marina in the next couple of years.

Above left: this will be one of the tallest buildings of Dubai and Dubai Marina when completed,
but when this pictures was taken, the only thing that was under construction was the building information board:
Nadj Tower (no height is yet available; 75 stories, 2007).
Above middle left: another very tall one: Ocean Heights,
which will be completed in 2007 (310m/1,017f, 82 stories).
Funny detail of this rendition is that the tower is set among part of the skyline of Perth, Australia...

This tower will be 340m/1,115f tall, with 90 stories. The skyscraper will be completed in 2009.
