Above: Giovanna Amati, here in action in Formula 3000 in 1991 (at Spa; left, and Hockenheim; right),
was the last female driver who tried to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix
(One of five in the history of Formula 1!) She tried to do so in 1992 driving a Brabham,
but she never qualified for the three races she was entered.
From 1987-1991 she drove 14 International Formula 3000 races.
She had her best results in 1991 in the GJ Motorsports Reynard,
when she finished 7th at Le Mans and 9th at Hockenheim.
