Ivan Capelli did most of his 93 Grand Prix starts with the Leyton-House March team (74),
finishing second on two occasions and leading the 1990 French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard for
many laps (45), before he was overtaken by Alain Prost and had to settle for the runner-up spot.
He drove two Grand Prix for Tyrrell, two for AGS, one for Jordan, and 14 for Ferrari.
His year with Ferrari in 1992 should have been a successful one and should have turned Capelli
into one of the sports biggest stars. Instead, it was a disaster.
With an uncompetitive car he only managed to get 3 points out of one 5th and one 6th place.
Before the year was over he was dropped and his career in ruins.
In 1993, he got two more chances with Jordan, but after he failed to qualify
for the Brazilian Grand Prix his Formula 1 career was over.
Ivan Capelli now is a F1 commentator for Italian television.
