Above: Gregor Foitek at Hockenheim in the EuroBrun in 1989 (left).
He tried to qualify himself 12 times for a Grand Prix that year,
but failed every time (10x he didn't even made it past pre-qualifying).
In 1990, he finally made the grid and raced two Grand Prix for Brabham
and five for Monteverdi-Onyx. His best result was a 7th at Monaco, although he didn't get to the finish
due to an accident a few laps from the end which cost him a possible championship point;
because he had raced 72 laps he was classified all the same.
On the pictures Gregor can be seen in the Monteverdi-Onyx at Hockenheim,
and at the Hungaroring, where he is passed by Martin Donnelly in the Lotus.
The German race would be the last Formula 1 race of his career.
He did try to qualify for Hungary, but failed, and at that venue it was the last time we saw Gregor in Formula 1.
After his Formula 1 career he briefly tried sportscars and CART-Indy in the United States,
but when these ventures turned out to be unsuccessful as well, Gregor Foitek quietly
disappeared from motor-racing.

Gregor Foitek raced Formula 3000 for three years (1986-1988)
He achieved one victory (Vallelunga 1988) and
finished 7th in the championship that year with 15 points.
