at Hockenheim a year earlier in his Eddie Jordan Racing Formula 3000 Reynard (middle),
and at Hockenheim in 1991, another race he managed to win.

Naspetti won the Italian Formula 3 championship in 1988; in only his second year in car racing.
He then switched to Formula 3000 where he spent four years,
before doing a couple of uneventful Formula 1 races in 1992 and 1993.
After his Formula 1 adventure he started racing in touring cars.
In 1997 he was Italian Superturismo champion.
Naspetti later raced in GT and ALMS (American Le Mans Series) Racing.

In Formula 3000 he had his most successful year in 1991
(after having done two very unsuccessful F3000 years in 1989 and 1990 (with only 3 points))
when he finished 3rd in the standings with 37 points and winning four races
(Enna-Pergusa, Hockenheim, Brands Hatch, and Spa-Francorchamps).
In 1992, he won one more Formula 3000 race (Pau),
before making his Formula 1 debut at Spa-Francorchamps in 1992.
