Above: Frenchman Pierre Petit (above) and German Frank Jelinski in the Maurer Formula 2 cars in 1983 at Zolder.
Petit was French Formula 3 champion in 1982 and drove Formula 2 in 1983 (Maurer) and 1984 (March).
His best position was a 3rd place at Misano in 1984.
He finished 9th in the championship that year with 10 points.
Petit never reached Formula 1, but turned his attention towards sportscar instead.
