Above: After a one-off race with Larrousse-Lola at the end of 1988 (not qualified),
Pierre-Henri Raphanel drove his first and only Formula 1 season in 1989, in the lacklustre Coloni and Rial cars.
In the Coloni he attended 10 races, but only managed to qualify for one (Monaco).
After the German Grand Prix, he switched to the Rial team, but this brought him no success either;
worse he never managed to get past pre-qualifying in the six races he entered with Rial.
It meant the end of his Formula 1 career, and Pierre-Henri switched to sportscars.
He has spent some time in Japan and still races GT's and sportscars in Japan and Europe,
as well as acting as a manager for other racing drivers.

Above: Raphanel in the ORECA Reynard Formula 3000 at Zolder in 1988.
It was the one but last Formula 3000 race of his career.
In total Raphanel drove 32 Formula 3000 races from 1986-1988;
scoring 20 points, three 3rd places, and one pole-position.
His best championship position was 12th in 1986.
