Gold Coast City is situated some 80 kilometres south of Brisbane in Queensland.
It spans 1,402 square kilometres featuring 70 kilometres of Coastline,
from South Stradbroke Island in the North to Rainbow Bay in the South.
With a population of over 480,000 inhabitants it is currently the sixth largest city in Australia.
The city comprises several popular holiday spots, like Surfers Paradise, Main Beach, Broadbeach, and Coolangatta;
with 287 days of sunshine annually and a subtropical climat it is no wonder why.
The city of the Gold Coast was officially formed in 1995,
when the beach towns were amalgamated with the hinterland and northern areas of the Albert Shire.

Most of the (tallest) skyscrapers can be found in Surfers Paradise, including the tallest, Q1.
It was here that the very first high-rise on the Gold Coast was built, Kinkabool, in 1959: A ten-story 31m/102f tall building.
Almost all of the skyscrapers of Gold Coast City are either residential, hotel or resort towers.
