LIPPO CENTRE

Some Lippo Centre facts & figures:

- Designed by architect Paul Rudolph with Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd.;
- the buildings are situated on Hong Kong Island in the Admiralty neighbourhood;
- when built the towers were called Bond Centre, named after its owners.
After the collapse of the Australian Bond Corporation, the Lippo Group
took over the company and hence the name change of the complex;
- The Lippo Centre is popularly referred to as the "Koala Buildings"
because the shape of the buildings look like koala bears climbing a eucalyptus tree trunk;
- the two towers rise above a four storey podium.
There are a number of restaurants,
cafés, bars and shops located on the podium floors under the towers.
- building costs were approximately HK$465 million (US$58 million);
- the two towers encompass about 80,000 square metres of office space;
- total gross floor area is 396,000 sq.m (1,300,000 sq.f);
- The towers were built on reclaimed waterfront flatland;
