Above left: London's Tower bridge on a typical hazy and cloudy day.
The bridge is seen from the top of The Monument.
Above right: but sometimes the weather can be really good as well;

Above: Britain's and London's tallest tower:
One Canada Square (aka: Canary Wharf Tower), (235m/771f, 50 stories, 1991).
Like many of the tallest buildings in London, One Canada Square is part of Canary Wharf,
the world's largest commercial development, which can be found a few kilometres outside of the city centre in the southeast.

Above left: 25 Canada Square, London's and Britain's second tallest skyscraper (200m/655f, 45 stories, 2001).
The building is home to the Citigroup.

Above: 8 Canada Square, London's third tallest (200m/655f, 45 stories, 2002).
This building is the headquarters of the HSBC group.

Above: for more than a decade this was London's tallest building: Tower 42 (183m/600f, 43 stories, 1980).
It can be found in the city centre. The first picture was taken from the 32nd floor of 30 St Mary Axe.

Above: one of London's latest additions to its skyline and one of the world's most amazing buildings:
30 St Mary Axe (180m/590f, 41 floors, 2003). Designed by Foster and Partners.
It can be found in the city centre as well, very close to Tower 42 and Lloyds Building (see page 2).
The building has 24,000 sq m of external glass. On the two top floors there is an exclusive restaurant
and lounge bar for tenants and their guest. The highest in London.
The building has a theoretical design capacity of 4,000 occupiers.

Above: 40 Bank Street (153m/502f, 33 stories, 2003).
Both 25 and 40 Bank Street are part of Canary Wharf as well.
Many more tall buildings are planned for this area. Among them Columbus Tower (237m/778, 2004-2007).
In the city centre even more tall skyscrapers are proposed:
London Bridge Tower (310m/1,017f, 2005-2009), The Leadenhall Building (225m/737f, 48 stories, 2007),
and Minerva Building (217m/712f, 2005-2007) being the tallest.
