319 metres/1,046 feet
80 stories
Completed: 2006
22nd tallest building in the world
5th tallest building in Hong Kong
(behind
2IFC, Central Plaza, Bank of China Tower, and The Center)

Nina Tower I is the tallest building in Hong Kong outside of Hong Kong Island (CBD area).
It is situated in Tsuen Wan, a district in the New Territories region,
some 15 kilometres north of Hong Kong Island.
On the pictures you can see the building in April of 2006,
still under construction, but for the most part completed.
Nina Tower I is part of the Nina Towers complex,
which also consists of the L'Hotel Nina Tower One (164m/537f, 42 stories).

Some building facts:
- the complex is named after Nina Wong, owner of property giant Chinachem,
and the person who has financed the project (with Chinachem as developer).
Nina Wong - almost 70 - is one of the richest women in the world.
Initial plans for the tower (1995) consisted of a new tallest building in the world.
This proposal was rejected because of its proximity to the Chep Lap Kok airport.
The area has a height restriction of 324 metres (1,063f).
- the building is the second tallest building in Hong Kong if the height
is taken from ground level to top of roof.
- it's also second on the list of Hong Kong buildings with most floors
(1st in both categories is Two International Finance Centre: 415m/1,362f, 88 stories).
- the top 40 floors of Nina Tower I will house a 800-room 5-star hotel;
the first 10 floors will contain a shopping mall, and the floors 10-39 will have offices.
- Nina Tower I and the L'Hotel Nina Tower One will be connected in mid-air by a skybridge.
