Above left and right: night and day shot of the skyline of Sydney, taken from North Sydney.
Above: wide angle skyline shot, taken from one of the pylons of the Sydney Harbor bridge.

Above: Chifley Tower, Sydney's tallest including its spire on top (244m/801f, 50 stories, 1992).
But there are more buildings in Sydney that have a taller height because of a very tall spire.
Without spire the building reaches a height of 216m/709f.

Above: Citigroup Centre seen from Sydney Tower and two street views.
The building is Sydney's 2nd tallest (243m/797f, 50 stories, 2000).
Without spire it would have a height of 206m/676f.

Above right: MLC Centre (228m/748f, 60 stories, 1977),
if you don't count spires on top of the buildings, this was Sydney's tallest building,
until 2004 when World Tower was completed.
World Tower is 230m/755f tall with 73 stories. It's not on the pictures here,
since all the pictures of Sydney are from 2001.
MLC Tower was Australia's tallest from 1977-1985 (overtaken in 1985 by Melbourne's Rialto Towers).
That is, again, if you don't take the spires on top into account.

Above: Governor Philip Tower (227m/745f, 54 stories, 1993), Sydney's 6th tallest building.

Above: Aurora Place (219m/719f, 41 stories, 2000),
Currently, Sydney's 9th tallest building. Without spire it is 188m/617f tall.

Above left and middle left: AMP Centre (188m/617f, 45 stories, 1976), Sydney's 10th tallest building.
In the background, Governor Philip Tower.
Above middle right and right: Australia Square (170m/558f, 46 stories, 1967),
seen from Sydney Tower and a street view. Now only Sydney's 14th tallest building,
it used to be Australia's tallest for almost a decade (1967-1976, when it was overtaken by AMP Centre).
