This page is dedicated to the victims of the horrendous attack on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11th, 2001, in which many people lost theirs lives, many others got wounded, many families lost relatives, many people lost friends and loved ones, and the world of architecture lost two icons in the skyline of New York City.
Most of the pictures on this page were taken in July of 2000. Although it was my third time in New York City,
it was the first time I went to lower Manhattan and the first time I visited and took pictures of the two World Trade Center buildings. Unfortunately, on the two days I was in New York City back then, the weather was bad and the pictures didn't turn out the way I wanted them to be.
In the last few months before the attack, I had already been making plans to go back to New York soon, to finally shoot some decent pictures of the two World Trade Center buildings, probably from Hoboken, on the other side of the Hudson River. Although I might go to Hoboken some day, that picture I was planning to take, will never be made...
Like many other people, I was deeply shocked by what happened on that black day in September of 2001.
I still carry that image of the planes that deliberately crash into the two towers with me wherever I go.
I guess I will do so for the rest of my life. I thought such an image was something you only get to see in movies...
My thoughts go out, to all those people that lost their lives, and their families and relatives.
This page is a little memorial to the victims of September 11, 2001, and of the two WTC towers.

in the mist, you can see the Empire State Building.
